A Late Arrival - Part Two

Mission: Mission 120: All Along the Watchtowers - Part Two
Location: Various Locations - Utgarde IV
Timeline: 2200Hrs - February 2nd, 2394

Kadian Paris was visibly annoyed with this conversation. But that wasn't either of the girl's fault. It was more their mother's fault which Kadian would address at a later date. "Ladies. I've not seen either of you in years." Kadian answered in a soft tone of voice. "Not since I went off to the academy." She paused a moment "Besides. Siblings have been driving each other insane since the dawn of time."

"But you said-" Stephanie started but Kadian cut her off.

"I know what I said. At the time, I thought I was right. But I was wrong." She paused a moment. "Besides. It's also recently been pointed out to me that my perspective was wrong. Then and now." Kadian answered quietly. "Don't believe me?" she asked. "Ask him." she indicated Solusar who smiled over his shoulder. "My siblings and their relations make you and your siblings look rather tame," Solusar commented before he let out a soft chuckle.

Nicole and Stephanie both shared a look. "Do we even dare ask?"

"I will share that tale, but not here and not now. You two are exhausted and are dealing with various issues and concerns. So we'll take you home, get you settled in, and you can go take a shower and get some sleep. Dont worry, we won't wake you at oh dark thirty. So, feel free to sleep in." he commented. "In fact, I would prefer it," he added.

Nicole regarded her eldest sibling. "Um... Kadian?. Did Mom give you all of our schoolwork?"

"Yes, she did." Kadian then grinned. "You'll have about ten days to deal with it. I will assist if required. But personally though ladies. I happen to think homework is an outdated concept." she commented. "I always refused to do it, and I ended up as a research scientist for medical. It's why I wear medical teal rather than the dark blue of science." She then grinned. "I will speak with Mom about your schoolwork."

"We'll get into trouble," Stephanie answered.

"No, you won't," Kadian answered in a tone that brooked no argument. "The amount of schoolwork she sent me was stupid, and while I expect you ladies to make progress on it, you need time to settle in and relax a little. I don't expect you to camp out at the kitchen table and spend the next ten days working on math problems," she commented. "There are more important things to do."

"Okay," Nicole answered softly. She then settled back as she closed her eyes. "Kadian. You've become a lot stronger as a psi. How often do you train?" she regarded her big sibling.

"Twice daily," Kadian answered. "What, I gotta take the girl out for a walk, you know," she added. "What of you?"

"Only once. It's not fun for me to do it." Stephanie admitted. "Twice for me," Nicole added.

"It can be boring when you're alone to do it," Kadian commented. "But it's a skill, like any other. I will help with that too," she added.

Solusar tapped the displays. "Ladies, welcome to Heimdall County. Destination in sight. We'll be landing in about ten seconds," he commented. "Kadian?" he asked after a moment.

"Yeah." Kadian turned back to her display. "Popping the hatch. You should have the beacon," she commented to Solusar as her fingers worked the display.

"I have it, beginning landing now," Solusar answered as the house appeared out of the clouds. Within moments, the shuttle had landed in a small hangar. "Securing thruster exhaust. We're here." he then popped the aft hatch. Which opened after a moment.

Kadian slipped off her restraints. Before she stood up. "Come on ladies. I'll show you around. Marcus, you good?" Kadian inquired about the shuttle and the like.

"Yeah. I'm right behind you. I just need to do my walk around with the shuttle. Then I'll be right in." Solusar explained. "Ladies, there is plenty to eat and drink. So help yourselves."

"But you both need sleep. So if you are going to eat, then eat something small." Kadian added. "Right this way." as she led her siblings into her home away from home. Nicole and Stephanie were gone out of sight a moment later as Solusar went to work on his issues.

Kadian quickly led her siblings to the rooms in question. "Nicole. This room is yours." she indicated the first room. Nicole smiled as she went into the room. The light was on as she smiled. "Wow, you guys live well." the teen commented. She placed her bag on the table at the end of the bed while she yawned loudly.

Nicole closed the bedroom door before she began changing into her sleepwear. She was tired and wanted to sleep. "Kadian, you live really well girl," she commented aloud, as she pulled on her nightdress. She often slept nude except for a night dress.

Meanwhile, in the next room. Stephanie had changed into a pair of crop shorts and a tank top. She went over to the window as she looked out over the black vista. She considered opening the window before she thought better of it, she then climbed into bed. She wanted to sleep. She was going to get it too.
