Needing Attention

Mission: Mission 3: Quantum of Solace
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 400
Timeline: 0800Hrs - August 3rd, 2388

Mike had returned to Ops after leaving the Brig. As he walked from the Turbolift and toward his Office he looked over at Yamaguchi who was working at the Strategic Operations Station.

"Mrs. Yamaguchi, come with me please."

Mike walked into his Officer, leaving the door open for Torilla to follow...

Lt Commander Torilla Yamaguchi tapped something on the panel as she waited for her request to be processed, she wanted more information on the Federation forces layout in this sector, more to the point she liked to stay informed as to where her husband's ship was located.

She heard the Admiral request her presence in his office, she tapped another key as she indicated another nearby officer to take over her post, she then rose to her feet and silently followed the Admiral into his office.

She found herself having a moment of paranoia as to why the Admiral wanted her presence, she didn't think she had honked anyone off as she silenced her fears by reminding herself that the Admiral would explain what he wanted from her in due time and nothing she said or did could change this.

She presented herself in the center of his office as she came to attention, he had four stars to her two and a half pips, needless to say, he severely outclassed her in both power and weight, both literally and figuratively, plus she knew he was a master of a half dozen styles of combat, both with weapons and without, needless to say, she was seriously intimidated as being hauled into the Admirals office was seldom a good thing.

"You wished to see me sir?" she inquired, as she gazed at the spot of the back bulkhead level with her eyes.

Mike had remained standing after entering his Office, shuffling through PADDs. He flashed a smile as Torilla spoke, "Please have a seat."

Mike waited until Yamaguchi sat before he also took his seat.

"Nice work along the Gorn border." Mike started as he found the PADD he was looking for. "As you know, one of the duties of the Station's Chief Strategic Operations Officer is a command of a Starship on a need by need basis. The USS Venator, Prometheus Class, is the vessel designated for the position."

He paused a moment before handing the PADD to Torilla and continuing, "The Venator is currently in drydock for overhaul and upgrades. This PADD includes a lot of the work being done...addition of Quantum Slipstream Drive, upgrading Type XIII Phasers, and the addition of a new positronic core and LCARS 7. The Work will take at least two months, possibly longer. I want you to be familiar with the ship and work being done. Once completed, you'll take her out for a test flight."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she gave the PADD in her delicate-looking hands the once over, the Admiral was giving her a starship to command as needed, it was something she had long wanted but she had always believed it was just simply out of reach. "Prometheus class... I've never served on one until now.." she commented. "I've read about their prowess and their abilities, but after these upgrades, the Venator will be an exceptional ship... " she noticed the work was about a third to half done, this did not bother her in the slightest. "says there is much still to be done aboard... it'll give me and her time to get to know each other."

"Exactly." Mike replied with a nod. "look over everything, and if you have questions let me know."

Mike flashed another smile. Mike didn't say 'dismissed' but Torella knew it was implied and she left to review the information on the PADD and get back to work while Mike looked for another PADD for his next meeting.

Yamaguchi vacated his office in silence as she sighed, she had more command experience then Bremer did and he was directly responsible for why she was no longer in command of the USS America.
