Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity / New Halana
Timeline: 0940Hrs - October 6th, 2393
Commander Victoria Yamaguchi paused as she sank into a chair as Captain Yamaguchi sat down in the chair across from her. "Well... That was downright liberating and horrifying, both at the same time..." as she paused. "My cousin is Empress... She might be lying.. or she's telling the truth... She said she was going to overthrow the Empire and I didn't take her seriously, I thought she was lying to me... I wanted to be rid of her because she was dangerous... and I was right, she managed to slaughter her way to Earth, and kill several hundred... as for her submitting to justice. Well... who cares... We won't be around long enough to care about this reality anyway... We have what we came for..." Yamaguchi explained.
"Not quite everything," Ouros commented softly. "We do still have one secondary goal and we're not finished here either." she reminded everyone present.
Temetti turned her head. "We still have contact with the drones planetside, they are feeding us massive amounts of information as they collect more and more data..."
Smithson raised an eyebrow. "Sir, I'm detecting transmissions planetside, sir, they indicate they are preparing to go after our drones..."
"Well, we expected that detail." Walking Bear commented from Conn. "Do we have enough infomation to make a cure with what we have at present?"
Nell regarded the tactical display. "Sir, it makes little difference, as two more Halanan starships have just arrived, they now have enough firepower to make us take notice," he explained in a light tone of voice.
Amakawa paused before she tossed in her two cents. "Sickbay is reporting we have two wounded and one critical skipper."
T'Shaamet nodded her head as she tapped her combadge. "Antilles to Antilles. Jackson..." T'Shaamet addressed her husband in her usual tone tones. "Are you monitoring the infomation coming in?"
"I am... I would prefer more infomation but I have enough infomation to work with to make something of it... The more infomation I can get, the better the end result will be." Antilles gave her the answer she had half been expecting and half been dreading.
"Alright," Horner answered quietly. "Alyssa, what's the status of the download?"
"Its at sixty-one percent and slowly climbing." the middle-aged Asian woman answered from the science console.
Amakawa raised an eyebrow. "Sir, I'm reading new com chatter, someone on the New Halanan side of things is having a major disagreement with his command, citing our lack of hostility towards them and our efforts in driving off the Imperials... Or whatever they call themselves now."
T'Shaamet raised an eyebrow as she regarded the small Trill female at Operations. "So... What are they doing at present...?"
"Nothing sir... They now have one squadron of small craft and four cruisers sized ships here on station..." she explained. "But they are holding position, in an inverted crescent formation with the smaller ships in the centre," she added.
"So it,s a staredown contest... We won't be around long enough to worry about it..." Horner commented. Alyssa... What's the status of that download?" she asked.
"Sixty-eight percent... The Halanan defenses are starting to kill off the drones..." she paused. "Sixty-nine percent... I think seventy-two might be as high as it goes..." the Asian female explained. "Jackson, can you work with this?"
"Yes, I can work with this and so can the people on Vanguard," Antilles answered, over the com system.
T'Shaamet nodded her head. "Helm, stand by to depart. We will depart once the last drone dies... The download has to be completely terminated to permit us to depart..."
Walking Bear nodded her head in confirmation. "Aye Captain," she answered in a flat tone of voice.
"Download strength is at ninety-two percent, we have eighty-six percent of drones still operational... correction, that's now eighty-four percent," Amakawa answered. "The drones are quite literally dropping like flies..." she paused. "I've lost contact with hive eighteen... It activated its self-destruct and send us a burst of its infomation..."
Temetti turned her head. "Download is at seventy-four percent," she commented as she tapped at her pannel. "I've just lost hives six and eight..." she paused a moment. "Hive one just went out, and... there goes hive four... The download speed just got cut in half..."
Antilles voice came over the com. "Captain. I have enough to make a full cure that will be able to cure our Halanan people form their issues. Seventy percent was the maximum limit I needed to work with... and besides... I have one full-blooded Halanan form this reality anyway..." Antilles explained. "Our mission here skipper is now completed..." Antilles sounded really sure of himself.
T'Shaamet nodded her head. "Smithson, initiate protocol omega to all the drones and their hives..." she regarded the older woman before she turned to Temetti. "Make sure you get any the omega signal doesn't reach..."
The two women nodded before going to work, within seconds of sending the transmission, hundreds of thousands of drones suddenly cease working and explode in swarms of tiny explosions all across the surface of the planet, leaving many hundreds of people with flash burns and the like, all ages and all walks of life were affected from toddlers to citizens of advanced old age. Moments after this was finished, the remaining hives, all of them hidden in various locations, also began to start exploding as well, vaporizing themselves out of existence.
Temetti finished her work before she turned to T'Shaamet. "All drones and hives have been destroyed. The final download was at seventy-eight point six percent completed." the scientist answered. "Hopefully it's enough..." she added in a quiet tone of voice.
"Indeed. It'll have to be." Jackson's voice answered her over the con system, if he was offended by her insinuation that he could not complete the cure, then it did not come across in his tone or his voice.
T'Shaamet regarded Walking Bear who had been waiting patiently. "Helm, get us out of here... Course and speed at your discretion... But get us out of here..."
"Aye Captain..." and with that, Walking Bear went to work, on the screen. The image of the planet faded as the ship turned about before she engaged her warp drive, with a silent bang the Infinity was gone, out of the planets orbital space and out of the system seconds later, heading to her next destination.
