Mission:
Mission 112: The Heart of a Truth Long Lost
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Six-Eighteen
Timeline: 0930Hrs - February 4th, 2394
Lieutenant Rachael Yamaguchi smiled as she stepped forward off of the pad. She nodded to the transporter operator. "Thanks, Chief." she addressed the man before her.
"No worries, El-Tee. Welcome to Starbase Six Eighteen." The human-looking enlisted man answered her, while he nodded. Yamaguchi decided not to overstay her welcome, she could tell he was a man on a mission. Thus she would not stand in his way. She departed the transporter room before she turned left when she walked out the door.
Rachael had no serious business on the Starbase. Except for the man who was the biological father to her only child. She wanted to deal with the issues that had been floating around between them, once and for all. A smile appeared on her face as Yamaguchi considered what it was she wanted to say to Paul Harrison when she saw him. Rachael also knew he was only here visiting his own family. Otherwise, he would still be on Starbase Vanguard.
Rachael Yamaguchi emerged from a small hallway as she walked onto the Starbase promenade. This place was always crowded with lots of very interesting locations, stores, restaurants and various other facilities. From child-friendly facilities to those that preferred a more adult-only clientele.
Rachael went over to the old replimat facility that she recalled from the time when her mother had been assigned to Starbase Four Hundred, as Chief of Strategic Operations. The chairs and tables were all totally redone and the decor was different, but other than that, the place was looked to be almost identical to what Rachael recalled from Starbase Four Hundred.
Rachael went over to the replicator. The young woman ordered the usual lunch that she preferred. Two donuts and a large glass of milk. Rachael lifted her glass and plate. She then selected her usual table which was free of any patrons sitting there. Rachael sat down, before she placed her meal down before her, upon taking a moment to look around. "Everything looks the same," she said aloud.
"Really?" a young woman answered. "Thats not what I heard about this place," she added. Before she indicated the chair across from Rachael. "Mind if I join you?" the young woman inquired.
Rachael raised an eyebrow with a questioning look. All the while she regarded the small-framed woman before her. She had dark skin and an impish smile. She also had baby blue eyes and shoulder-length black hair. Rachael also estimated that this woman's height and mass were the same as Siaxx's. She sighed as she missed her friend whom she had left behind on Starbase Vanguard.
This woman also wore a Starfleet uniform Rachael didn't recognize as being in present usage. With black pants and a black shirt, but with gray shoulders. But rather than the ribbing that Rachael was used to seeing, there was instead extensive use of flat panelling. Rachael also noticed that this woman wore the rank of Lieutenant Commander, judging by the rank insignia on her collar. Rachael wondered where this woman was from.
The young woman sat down. She grinned at the woman across from her. "Sorry, you're probably wondering why I'm sitting before you.?" she commented. "I can see why you'd like this place. My mom would have too," she commented with a gentle smile on her lips.
"I had wondered," Rachael answered with a gentle smile on her lips. "But I'm not worried about it." she then took a bite from her donut. She touched the other woman's mind with her own, and she was not at all suprised when she got a response back. This only encouraged her.
"Then let me explain myself." The young woman commented. "My name is Saki." she then breathed in and then she began to explain herself. "My ship was teleported to this place here and now, via way of a temporal anomaly. We're still investigating it," she commented with a breezy smile.
Rachael regarded the woman before her. "I'm wondering..." she paused as the notion sounded almost absurd to her. "Have we met before?" she asked the question quietly, so as to not attract attention.
The young woman nodded. "Yes, we are known to each other. Even if I am only a child at the present time." Saki paused. "I'm your daughter, Mom." she paused. "I wondered how you would react if you encountered me." she slowly spread her hands. "Dad told me that you would be suspicious and unsure of me." Saki paused as she sipped her drink. "You need not worry too much." she indicated the rest of the Starbase with her left thumb. "It will tend to itself. You told me that," she explained. "I knew that you and I would meet, here and now," Saki added.
"How so..." Rachael asked, then she answered her own question.
