The Sorrows of Night - Part One

Mission: Mission 111: The Sorrows of Night
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1900Hrs - October 23rd, 2393

Lt Commander Kameron Solusar-Yamaguchi was reminded for the umpteenth time on this evening of why he had talked with Rachael Yamaguchi earlier this afternoon about if she could babysit for him this evening, she had readily agreed as he knew that she was having issues with settling into life in this time, rather then being stuck in the past, she was still used to seeing her children as teenagers and babysitting for her grandkids might help bring some clarity, Kameron had only readily agreed with her.

"Beth, are you alright?" he asked his wife, who was presently sitting on the sofa, looking like she was asleep, her face was drawn and she was tired.

"I'm tired, Kam..." Beth answered, she peeled open her eyes with some effort. "Today wasn't even that bad yet I feel like I've run a marathon..." she then sighed softly. "I'm not sure of what the issue is..."

"I am," Kameron answered. "Beth its time to cut back on all this work you do. You're a fully licensed veterinarian. You're also a counselor and a Doctor... Any of those is enough for most, and you are also a young mother and you are pregnant..." he regarded his spouse while he spoke. "You carry two full plates hon at all times... You never get a day off... and you never get any help..." he added.

"All true..." Beth admitted. "Maybe... its time for me to consider it..." she admitted. "Yeah... I'll talk to Galiaan Fordring in the morning since I'm working with her tomorrow... She tends to do the work and let me do paperwork... Most others don't."

"Then Beth... Maybe you take Doctor Fordring aside and explain your issues..." as he rose to his feet and went over to the replicator. "Do you want anything hon?"

"Sure... Could I get a glass of cold water...?" Beth asked.

"I got you something that'll actually restore something to you," Kameron answered, he filled his order and her drink order, he watched as they appeared on the replicator pad before him, before he picked them both up, he then went back over to the sofa, before sitting down next to his spouse, he gently placed her drink into her hands, he lifted his glass to his lips before he drank a mouthful while Beth lifted the glass of yellow-colored liquid to her lips and she drained the entire glass in one go. "Mmm..."

Kameron paused. "Feeling better..." he asked of her, in a knowing manner.

"I am... actually... What was that?" Beth asked as she opened both eyes. She honestly looked exhausted and it was telling.

"Gatorade... Mom recommended it to me awhile ago When I said you were having issues with exhaustion." Kam explained. "Mom has been very helpful with all kinds of information regarding the proper caring and feeding of pregnant females..."

Beth grinned. "Mom's good like that... Always has our backs..."

"Your grandmother should be watching Robert for another couple of hours... Do you want to head to bed and get some sleep?" Kam asked of his spouse as he gently plucked the now empty glass out of her hand and he placed it onto the table.

"No..." Beth whispered. "All I ever do is work and sleep...Its... boring..." she admitted. "But your still right Kam... This has to end..."

Kameron knew he was reaching on a limb and he did not wish to anger his neglected spouse. "Are you still happy in medicine?"

"Honestly...?" Beth paused, clearly she had not mulled it over. "No... All I ever do... is work... and work and work myself to death..." she paused. "Maybe it is time to consider moving on... I need a break and I need one badly... You don't need to worry about angering me Kam... I've had time to consider all of this... and I do listen to you during our previous talks..."

"Alright." Kameron gently smiled at his spouse. "I know you were never considering moving on out of medical to go anywhere else..."

"I didn't... But now I am... My skill set is rather lacking but I am skilled in hospital administration... Maybe I can go the Siaxx route into command..." she admitted. "Get my own ship..."

"Personally... I always thought you looked sexy in red." Kameron slowly smiled at his spouse.

"Flatterer," Beth answered as she slowly grinned at her husband. "Can you handle separations if it does happen?" she inquired as she regarded him.

Kameron knew "We should discuss that closer to the time..." Kameron responded. "Let's focus on one issue at a time..." he added. "You talk to Galiaan Fordring and see how she feels about her prize Doctor leaving medical for good, she's lost Siaxx... Now she's going to lose you and who knows who else..."

Beth knew that her husband was right on this issue. "Alright... Well, we'll see how all of this goes."
