Mission: Mission 55: The Measure of a Woman
Location: Starbase 12 / ASFS Ryazar's Shield
Timeline: 1000Hrs - December 20th, 2391

Commander Harmon Rabb Junior stepped onto the hanger bay of the Akurian Battlecruiser. He recalled the conversation that sent him here yesterday.

Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi called him into her office, he regarded the taller then average woman. "Admiral. You called for me?"

"I did, yes." April turned as she indicated a chair across from her desk. "Commodore Talon Yamaguchi wants to reclaim custody of a child who was taken from her two years ago and placed in care. The cause of this event was that Admiral Hunt felt that Noel was a threat to his children so he had her taken into care, against Talon's wishes." she sighed as she handed him a PADD with the particulars of the case.

"Lovely... You wanted me because of the fact that I have a soft spot for children?" Rabb inquired with a frown.

"Yes. You have no respect for the Admiralty which I am hoping will help you."

"Oh?" Rabb inquired. "Why do you say that?"

"Because the medical report on Noel said that nothing actually happened between her and Talon's other children. Jerome Hunt was being paranoid. He did not expect Talon's response which was a threat to divorce, he called her bluff and she divorced him... the case was long and bloody.. Jerome Hunt severed all ties with his three children over the case and Talon became bitter as a result of this.."

"Lovely." Rabb growled. "So.. this is a simple custody case?"

"Yes... Investigate Ms Yamaguchi to see if she can handle having Noel back... if not then we leave the child where she is... but if she can then she will be returned to her original family without any delay."

"I understand... I'd like to take along Lt Commander Roberts with me, He has skills which will assist me in this task."

"Thats fine, take him." Yamaguchi smiled. "I want your report on this situation as soon as you can get it to me... no rush of course." she paused. "your secondary goal is to learn as much as you can about the Akurian Justice system, their laws and the like."

"Thank you sir. I this will be handled. JAG's finest are on the case." Rabb responded.

"Thank you for your time Commander." she paused. "I'm sorry to hand you this assignment so close to Christmas... but I will make it up to you."

"It'll be fine sir. My wife and children understand.." Rabb explained with a smile.

"Fair enough, on your way then." as he rose to his feet and departed the office, he tapped his combadge as he went out the door. "Rabb To Roberts?"

"Roberts here. Yo?. Whats up?"

"Pack your gear... We have a rather ugly child custody case to deal with, I need your A game Commander... We leave in fifteen minutes... We're going to see out Akurian allies.."

"Lovely. I'll see you at Hanger Four in ten then..."

"Excellent, just my plans exactly." as Rabb headed back towards his quarters, he never stayed at one assignment for very long as he was equal in rank as the JAG Officer for the base.

"Sounds good, seeya there. Roberts out." as Rabb reached his destination. His home away from home which these days was Starbase 67 where his wife was assigned, she had care of their children which was part of the arrangement between Sarah MacKenzie and Rabb himself.

He picked up the duffel on the sofa before he exited these quarters, the next stop was the hanger.
