| Personal History | Raymond Sims was born the elder of two siblings in mid-2362, on the Erebus Colony, the colony was new and there was not much here at the time. His time growing up on an ice world left him somewhat introverted and sheltered. He went into Starfleet in 2378 as he was an honors student and had been taking university-level classes in high school, he ended up going to the academy and while his aptitude for sciences was off the charts, his security skills were almost worthless so he focused on sciences and he ignored everything else. Over the time he became something of a specialist while at the academy and when he graduated, his skills were honed and while he had been trained and tested. His first assignment was Starbase 20. One of the older Ournal I class starbases in service, he went in and supervised the refit of the science systems as a mere Ensign, he along with some sixty personnel modernized the base and while he served here for two years, he came to relish the challenge of this base but he found himself in demand by others. He was reassigned to the USS Fe'garren as one of the science officers, he would remain here for the rest of the Fe'garren's service in Starfleet, what he didn't know was that he would find a niche here as many would come to depend on him for mostly science work while some came to rely on him for cryptic work with communications. He was the one who was responsible for the first contact and while there wasn't anything he could have done, he was ultimately found not responsible for what happened to the Fe'garren, however, this would also cost him a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. Talon requested that Raymond join her on assignment to the Ryazar's Shield, he agreed and has followed her along. His service here ended at almost the same time Talon's assignment did and he went over to Starbase 12 as one of their new communications officers, his promotion to Lt Commander followed shortly. |
