| Personal History | Commander Janel Moi was born in early 2351 to Neil and Corslia Moi, she spent much of her early life on Betazed as a happy child, she had an older sister who opted to remain a civilian rather then join Starfleet as Janel herself decided she was going to do when she came of age. Janel was an experienced computer operator as she found she had innate talents as she greatly enjoyed her time with the computer. Janel went off to the Academy in 2369 and graduated in 2371 before being posted to the USS Helgoland, her assignment here saw her through the run up to the Dominion War, the Second Borg attack and the short war between the Federation and the Klingons. She was reassigned to the USS Ostfriesland, another Excelsior Class which saw her through the Dominion War, from first shot to last, through the conquest and liberation of her homeworld of Betazed, she tried to cope but it wore her down. Early in 2376, she was reassigned to yet another Excelsior Class starship which she helped rebuild the ships computer core from the ground up. She remained here for the next couple of years as she helped keep this old crate flying before she was promoted and went off to another ship, her most interesting assignment was the USS Song of the East as she developed an attraction for Rear Admiral Jake Yamaguchi and he didn't know about it because he had his own issues, when he departed for IFO's command, she simply transferred those feelings to the new skipper, one Captain T'Shaamet Janel Moi was promoted then transferred off to the USS Courageous because they needed a highly experienced officer to serve as their Chief of Operations and had Torilla been asked, she would have preferred someone else in that role however Nechayev didn't ask her opinion on anything so Torilla is stuck with her. However the issues would come to naught as Janel was offered command of the USS Northampton and she accepted, leaving Torilla to search elsewhere for a new Chief Operations Officer. |
